High-tech undercover
With a resolution of 6 megapixels, innovative digital technology hides behind the classic elegance of the Xacti S6. This also includes the innovative "Touch Sensor" which focuses and takes a picture within a fraction of a second. The lens looks fantastic with its chrome-plated outer, but its inside is equally impressive: a 3x optical zoom creates brilliant images which are displayed with pinpoint clarity on the 2" LCD monitor.

Video recordings in QVGA quality
The Xacti S range of cameras enable video recording in QVGA quality (320-mode with 15 frames per second.) - good enough to show off time and time again!

Automatic high-quality images
White balance and photosensitivity are controlled automatically on Xacti S cameras (on the Xacti S6 model you can also control the white balance manually). The optimum settings for landscape, night, portrait or sports photography can be chosen from the scene selection menu.

Freedom of choice when saving your images
You can choose to save pictures direct to an SD card, or you can use the integrated memory.

Control the sharpness of the image directly from the monitor
Pinpoint controls: with its high reproduction quality, the 2" LCD monitor is excellent for checking the sharpness of the images straight away.

Shutter release: the fastest in the entry level class
The "Touch Sensor" shutter release technology lifts the Xacti S6 way above its competitors in the entry level class. The exclusive technology developed by Sanyo is a world first which reduces the average shutter release delay from 1 second to just 0.05 seconds. Gentle contact is all that is needed to activate the focus and take a picture. This is an advantage which is unmatched by the competition, and one which comes into its own in applications where the success of a shot depends on speed - for example in high-speed sports photography.

Uniform image sharpness with 9-point autofocus
The intelligent new 9-point autofocus system delivers reliable and successful pictures. The 9 focal points are distributed across the image so that objects which are not in the center of the image are still perfectly in focus. However, you can also select and adjust the focus manually if you prefer.

Image sequences: 4 shots in 3 seconds
The sequential function enables users to take 4 shots at a speed of 1.3 pictures per second. For example, this would allow you to take a sequence of pictures of a speedboat racing past.

Scene selection programs for enhanced creativity
The nostalgic design of the Xacti S6 alone is enough to inspire you to experiment with the monochrome mode for retro-styled black and white photographs. Of course, there are plenty other exciting color, sharpness and contrast filter options to experiment with. In addition, you also have access to scene modes like image-in-image, passport photos or sepia mode, as well as many more.
